Ever since I saw beautifully done latch hook embroidery at my aunts house I fell in love. This past summer I found a pattern that I really liked. It is the majestic Saguaro rising tall in the desert sky. I finished it over the summer and it now hangs proudly in my study. Reminds me a lot of the town I called home for so long!
How do you hang a project as heavy as a 2.5ft x 3.5ft latch hook rug? I used contact cement, Velcro and some left over piece of 2" by 2 feet strip of wood. I placed the wood strip on the wall, found the studs and marked and made holes. Next I used contact cement to glue the hook side of the Velcro to the wood. I nailed the strip of wood to the wall.
I sewed on the other side of the Velcro to the back of my project. I did that by first sewing a piece of cotton to the back to prevent holes. Once both sides were secure it was easy to hang the rug.
